In Service Workshop: Expanded Healing Invisible Wounds: Understanding Victim Impact: A Trauma-Informed Response to Sexual Violence Hosted by The New Jersey Victim Assistance Academy
As first responders, how do we provide a compassionate response to victims of sexual violence? This training will examine how the legal, medical, and mental health systems respond to the needs of victims of sexual assault and how helping professionals can avoid re-traumatization of survivors. The personal impact of working with sexual trauma survivors and vicarious trauma will also be discussed, as well as strategies for self care.
